Six Flying Dragons is locally known as Yukryong-I Nareusya which literally means ‘soar up to the sky’. To make it easier to understand and remembered, international broadcasts called it Six Flying Dragons.

The series stars
Yoo Ah-in and Shin Se-kyung. The two first worked together on Fashion King.
Other stars include Kim Myung Min, Byun Yo-hana and Yoon Kyung-sang. Chun
Ho-jin appeared as the brave and rightful General Yi Seong-gye who happened to
be the first King of the new country Joseon.
The Story
Six Flying Dragons is about the battle for power among the leaders
of the old country of Goryeo. During the time, the country is flocked by
corrupt officials. The poor people of Goryeo on the other hand continued to
suffer from hunger and die. These were all witness by Bang Won played by Yoo
Ah-in and in his attempt to the change the history of his country and to lessen
poverty, he aim for power. On his effort to change the country for the better,
he met Boon-Yi (played by Shin Se-kyung. Boon Yi is a commoner and for their
different background, the two remained friends despite of their overflowing
love for each other.
These two characters will work together along with other
characters in the story as they protect their life, love, family, principles,
ideology and hold to power. With the six dragons soaring high towards the
ultimate power, find out who will finally make Joseon the country that everyone
dreamed of!
About the Series
Six Flying Dragons was aired on SBS from October 2015 to March the
following year. It composed of 50 episodes. The series was part of the
network’s 25th aniiversary
special. For this series, Yoo Ah-in was nominated for the Daesang Grand Prize
Award and Top Excellence Award, Actor in a
Serial Drama. He bagged the Top Excellence Award while Shin Se-kyung
bagged the Excellence Award, Actress in a Serial Drama.
Conclusion
The
series strategically introduced the dragons of the story on the first few
episodes and from there I can say that I was hooked up. If you are looking for
a great Korean historical drama, Six Flying Dragons won’t disappoint you!
